Our Role

JPG communicates with Government, NHS organisations, regulators, patient and professional bodies and the scientific community to generate understanding of our position on key issues in the UK that could impact our members’ future life sciences investment in the UK.

Within our constitution the JPG aims;

• To fully represent the views of Japanese life sciences companies in the UK
• To promote Japanese commitment to involvement in healthcare in the UK
• To shape the attitudes of Japanese parent companies to encourage investment and business in the UK
• To foster communications between the Japanese Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (JPMA) and the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) and the Government

It is important to stress that our members are accountable for the commercial success of their businesses here in the UK – in this regard there is a need for a reset of how Government collaborates with the industry, and its approach to regulation of our sector.
